We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the landscaping project at Hester Hornbrook Academy in collaboration with Hutchisons. This project has transformed the school grounds into a dynamic and sustainable environment, promoting both education and well-being for students.
Gardens: Beautifully designed garden areas have been established, incorporating a variety of native plants that enhance the landscape and provide valuable learning opportunities.
Rain Gardens: Purpose-built rain gardens have been integrated into the site, effectively managing stormwater while supporting local biodiversity and improving water quality.
Vegetable Planters: Dedicated vegetable planters have been installed, encouraging hands-on gardening experiences and teaching students about healthy eating and sustainability.
Synthetic Turf: Durable synthetic turf has been laid in select areas, providing a safe and versatile space for outdoor activities, play, and sports throughout the year.
Irrigation Systems: An advanced irrigation system has been implemented to ensure the health of the gardens and lawns, promoting efficient water use and sustainability.
Lawn Areas: Expansive lawn spaces have been created for recreational use, offering students a place to gather, play, and engage in outdoor activities.
Planting: A thoughtful planting plan featuring a mix of ornamental and functional plants has been executed, enriching the learning environment and supporting local ecosystems.
This project represents a significant enhancement to Hester Hornbrook Academy, fostering a connection to nature and enriching the educational experience. We are excited to see how these new outdoor features will inspire creativity, collaboration, and a love for the environment among students and staff.
